Whoopie Slings are one of the most adjustable and lightest way to suspend your hammock. They have a bead spliced on the adjustable loop so it can't be pulled into itself. 7/64 Amsteel has a breaking strength of 1,500 pounds, while the 1/8 Amsteel is much higher.

You can pull the rope through easily, allowing you to make the rope bigger and smaller with little effort. The sling locks in place yet remains easy to adjust. You can also put split rings, wire ties or other things on the sling to maintain the same purpose as the bead, preventing the loop from disappearing into the bury.
